Pillow Talk Japan
Welcome to Pillow Talk Japan, and can I just say that Anata no mimi wa hontou ni kirei! (You have really beautiful ears!) Unconventional, sure, but will it work? You bet! Unless, of course you are talking to somebody without ears, in which case the above phrase could possibly be considered insulting. That's if they actually hear it. Having no ears makes listening quite difficult, so you might get away with it. However, if you want to try the above phrase out in a bar, club, cafe or train, it is highly recommended that you briefly check to make sure that the person you want to converse with has both ears intact.
Why?
Pillow Talk Japan provides a selection of easily memorable phrases to arm yourself with when flirting with, dating or dallying in the bedroom with Japanese speakers. Aimed at beginner Japanese speakers, this site provides phrases in both romaji and hiragana as well as printable kana charts for self study purposes. The phrases were selected for their casual and everyday spoken language style; most will not be found in text books or normal travel phrase books, making this site a valuable resource for those wishing to converse in more natural Japanese.
How?
Are you studying Japanese or have already mastered the language? Great! Its a pity you are so arrogant about it but I suppose it is quite an achievement. If you know a thing or two about pronunciation I suggest you jump straight into the links up the top. On the other hand, perhaps you don't know your "ka's" from your "ta's", in which case I recommend a brief visit to the resources section for a run down of the basics of the language.

"The Pillow Talk site was... well, I only read the Flirting section, but it was awful, some of the phrases simply wrong as well. I would definitely stay away from anyone who, if any, tries to approach me with any of the lines lol. Note that trying to be playful with lengthy phrases in a language you don't know well can be quite challenging..."

The occasion was a post-production event for the big-screen adaptation of his popular TV Asahi late-night drama series "Tokumei Kakaricho - Tadano Hitoshi," held at the Differ Ariake hall in Tokyo. The venue, which houses the first ever arena purpose built for mixed martial arts, was also home to a famous bubble-era disco. Yesterday Takahashi posed for the cameras under the giant mirror ball that still hangs from the ceiling. The TV series, which has run since 2003, is adapted from a serial manga in the Gendai Shukan magazine. The Tadano Hitoshi character, whose talents are sex and karate, works as a fixer at an ad agency run by a yakuza. The drama is known for its love scenes (it has often featured porno...
New DVD Release for Tora! Tora! Tora!

Tora! poster">
The classic 1970 WWII movie "Tora! Tora! Tora!" is to be released on DVD including scenes cut from the original U.S. release. One of the biggest ever productions of its time, the $120-million movie was a joint Hollywood-Japan project and for the first two years of production it was directed by Kurosawa Akira and Richard Fleischer. After Kurosawa stepped down, the Japanese side was taken over by Fukasaku Kinji, who saw it through to completion. With a cast that included Martin Balsam, Joseph Cotten, Yamamura So and Mihashi Tatsuya, it's a dramatization of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor told from both sides. The title is the code that was used by the Japanese to indicate that they had achieved complete surprise. By coincidence, the Tora of the title is also the name of...
Takeshi Honored at Greek Film Fest

Popular actor Toyokawa Etsushi (46, profile) was recently rushed to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction to a seafood stew. Though he was released the next day, he is said to have been shocked by the incident, something he had never experienced before. ToyoEtsu had been enjoying a "yosenabe" party at his Tokyo home with several friends late on Monday night. Shortly after he began eating the stew, which contained oysters, he got the shakes and began to itch all over his body. He was rushed by ambulance to the Tokyo Emergency Room, Hiroo at around midnight and doctors diagnosed an acute allergic reaction. His management denied reports that he had experienced the potentially fatal anaphylactic shock, adding that he was back at work yesterday. They said that he had been tired recently from the filming of the movie "20th Century Boys" and all the PR work that came with it. Now if only the seafood hadn't been cooked, we'd have jokes about Toyokawa Ate Sushi...(sorry :P).
